The Library Gang Loves Norma Chang!

July 20, 2006

Everybody loves to eat and when you combine it with a charming cook you sure can’t go wrong. Norma presented two programs for us today. The first was the “Do-Ahead Picnic” program for adults. Even seasoned cooks learned a thing or two from Norma. She made us Sweet & Sour Turkey Kabobs, Sesame Spaghetti Squash and Asparagus Salad. They were wonderful!

For the children she presented “Book A Trip To China; Where In The World Is Shanghai (Geography Via Food)” The children had great food and learned about China too! Norma made them Stir-Fry Hong Kong Style Noodles and all the kids tried new foods and realized that they liked them!

Trip the Light Fantastic…at the library?

July 11, 2006

Tonight was the first session of our beginning ballroom class. This was the first event in our adult summer reading program “Books: A Treasure At Any Age.” Patrons and library staff (several of them children of the 80’s) learned the correct way to dance with a partner. We all left the first class feeling that we could dance in public and maybe our children wouldn’t laugh so hard at us. June was a great teacher and we can’t wait until next week.
